Survivor from Poland | Auschwitz

Hannah Biegelisen was born in Lodz, Poland in 1931. She lived in a ghetto for four years and did one year of forced labor in Auschwitz where she lost all her family. Her husband to be, Ben Biegelisen, spent four years in Auschwitz where his whole family perished. He was liberated from there by Russian forces and went to Israel in 1945. He fought in the army in the War of Independence and met Hannah in Israel after she spent six months in Cyprus in 1947. They both came to the United States in 1959 with no money and without knowing any English. They first lived in New York and then moved to Florida.
