Florence Braun Hershkowitz

Florence Braun Hershkowitz was born in Poland in 1932. When she was six years old, she left the Majdanek concentration camp with her sister and brother and escaped to Russia with her parents. They ended up in Siberia, where they suffered terribly from hunger and picked berries to survive. She still has scars from scurvy. Her husband also survived the Holocaust. After returning to Poland, she came to the United States with her family in 1945.
