Harriet Mehl-Rottenberg was born in Vienna, Austria, in 1922. She scrubbed streets and received much persecution. She came to the United States with her parents in 1939 when she was seventeen years old. Her daughter Carol Goodman works at United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
