Sarah Radzeli
Survivor from Germany | Auschwitz
Sarah Radzeli was born in Czechoslovakia in 1929. She lived in the Isa Ghetto before going to Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1944 with her twelve-year old sister Sabi. After four months in Auschwitz, she worked in the Lawrence factory in Vrchlabi, Czechoslovakia. She was liberated by the Russians in 1945. She lived in displaced persons camps before trying to go to Israel in 1946, though the ship “Latroon” was sent to Cyprus. She got to Israel in 1947 and joined a kibbutz. She came to the United States in 1960 to Philadelphia. Her late husband and brother were in the Israeli Army. Sarah remarried in 1971.
